Popcorn, big screens, and good conversation afterwards!
I am so excited to be hosting and moderating this event at MEST on April 21. It’s a movie screening – a documentary that follows 5 female startup founders over two years as they pitch to VCs, build teams, bring products to market, fail and start again. It also weaves in big-picture perspectives from women like investor, Joanne Wilson; White House CTO, Megan Smith; and Ruchi Sanghvi, the first female engineer at Facebook.
She Started It gives a new face to the popular image of the tech entrepreneur: a female face.
The goal and purpose for hosting this screening is to raise awareness about the issues women entrepreneurs face, and encourage more young girls and women, especially in Africa, to consider careers in STEM and tech fields.
The screening set in an informal setting of pillows, dim lights and snacks, will be followed by a Panel and Q&A session with a panel made up of six influential women in Ghana’s technology and business space. Names to be announced soon.
